Wilbern was born on April 10, 1916 in Dunseith, N. D., to Bernice James and Mary Emma (Clark) Lossing. After he graduated from high school he worked a few years before entering the Army in 1941 and serving until 1945. He completed his tour of duty in The Aleutian Islands. After the service he

Wilbern married Violet Mace on Nov. 15, 1952 in Vancouver, Wash.
His hobbies included painting, playing the organ and accordion, fishing in Alaska, building jet boats, hunting big game, dancing, gardening and he built a log cabin in the Alaska outback.
He was a member of the VFW in Prineville, Ore.
He is survived by his step-sons Jack (Mary) Thornburg of Prineville; Jerry Lossing, six grandchildren and seven-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and one sister.
