Jan. 30, 9:20 p.m.: Leon Drew Jr., 48, Wasilla, stopped for having a taillight out. Summons: DWLR.

Jan. 31, 8:10 p.m.: Cindy R. Edmenson, 39, Wasilla, stopped for having expired registration. Summons: DWLS.

ACCIDENT

Jan. 27, 8:35 p.m., Swanson Ave. and Parks Hwy.: Stacy Gunnell, 25, Wasilla, eastbound in her Ford van when a grey Ford Ranger turned in front of her, causing a wreck. The pickup’s driver stopped, then fled without providing information.

DUI

Jan. 29, 10:35 p.m.: Peter Leondakos, 51, Wasilla, stopped for a moving violation. Charges: DUI, DWLS. Bail: $500.

Jan. 30, 1:47 a.m.: Scott Gilbert, 46, Wasilla, stopped for an equipment violation. Charge: Felony DUI. Bail: $5,000.

RUNAWAY

Jan. 30, 2:54 p.m.: A woman reported her son had run away from home at 3 p.m. Jan. 29. She had tried to find him but failed.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Jan. 31, 7:36 p.m., Carrs: Police responding to a disturbance in the parking lot found a male had caused $500 damage to a vehicle.

DEATH INVESTIGATION

Jan. 30, 2:19 p.m.: Ethel Bruce, 95, Wasilla, found to have died of natural causes.

ASSAULT

1 Feb. 1, 1:09 a.m., Tami-Dall Ave.: Melanie Hoffman, 30, allegedly assaulted a family member. Charge: Assault. No bail set.

Feb. 2, 2:40 a.m., Waldal Rd.: Adam J. Avakumoff, 28, allegedly assaulted a family member and left before troopers arrived. He was found in Anchorage 8 hours later. Charge; Assault. No bail set.

Feb. 4, 6:40 a.m., Fairview Lp.: Golden M. Viveiros, 25, Wasilla, allegedly assaulted a family member. Charge: Assault. No bail set.

ACCIDENTS

Jan. 31, 11:34 a.m., Mile 37 Willow-Fishhook Rd.: A 17-year-old Eagle River boy lost control of his 1992 Chevy SUV and crashed head-on with a 2008 Ford F-150 pickup being driven by Sean Dunham, 41, Willow. Damage to both vehicles; $5,000. No injuries.

2 Feb. 1, 2:40 p.m., Mile 6 Talkeetna Spur Rd.: A 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer rolled over. The driver, Michael Vogus, 55, Talkeetna, left the scene but was found at home and cited for negligent driving.

Feb. 1, 4:19 a.m., Lakewood Dr. and Knik-Goose Bay Rd.: Ashley I. Hubbs, 18, Wasilla, stopped for an equipment violation. Summons: DWLS.

Feb. 2, 8:55 a.m., Old Parks Hwy.: Roberta Gudry, 47, arrested for DWLR.

Feb. 2, 3 p.m., Willow: Terry Pershing, 27, Willow, stopped for driving 38 mph in a 20 mph school zone, arrested for DWLR and giving troopers a fake name. Citations; No proof of insurance, open container of alcohol. Bail: $750.

DRUGS

Feb. 1: Melanie J. Hoffman, 30, Talkeetna, charged with drug misconduct for allegedly possessing 26 pills of Clonazepam despite not having a prescription. The case began Jan. 21 when Hoffman was pulled over at Mile 85 Parks Hwy. Her vehicle was impounded that day and searched Jan. 22. Bail: $7,500.

WARRANTS

Jan. 31, 12:10 p.m., Montana Creek Rd. near Parks Hwy.: Luis Rodriguez-Rivera stopped as he walked down the road, arrested on $250 warrant for failure to appear in court on a NVOL charge.

Feb. 1, 2 a.m., Wasilla: Steven J. Meier, 36, Wasilla, arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a disorderly conduct charge. Bail: $500.

Feb. 3, 12:55 a.m., E. Ashmore Ave.: Stephen C. Walsh, 29, Palmer, arrested on $1,000 warrant for failure to appear in court on DUI and DWLR charges.

Feb. 4, 2:17 p.m., Wasilla: Candie Lisa Delong, 46, Wasilla, arrested on an Idaho warrant. Bail: $5,000.

Feb. 4, 2:45 p.m., Hemmer Dr.: Donn P. Boe, 27, Palmer, arrested on warrant for violating probation on a drug misconduct charge. Bail: $5,000.

Jan. 29, 6:39 p.m., Parks Highway near Willow: Ella Fenderson, 51, North Pole, stopped for speeding. Charge: DUI. Summonses: Open container, speeding. Bail: $500.

Feb. 3, 1:32 a.m., Mile 50 Parks Hwy.: Lorna L. Olszak, 51, Wasilla, drove into the ditch and was reportedly standing in traffic trying to flag someone down. Charges: DUI, NVOL. Bail: $5,250.

Feb. 3, 12:25 p.m., Parks Hwy. and Cheri Lakes Dr.: Loretta A. Nelson, 45, Wasilla, stopped on a complaint from the public. Charge: DUI. Bail: $500.

Feb. 3, 7:55 p.m., Creekshore Cir.: Thomas Beattie, 49, Wasilla, lost control of his pickup. Charges: Felony DUI, DWLR. Bail: $20,000.

DEATH INVESTIGATION

Feb. 2, 5:20 a.m.: Mat-Su Regional Homecare and Hospice reported Walter P. Schumacher , 73, died at home of natural causes.

DVROV

Feb. 2, 5:20 p.m., Blarney Cir.: Charles Cox, 22, Wasilla, arrested for an alleged DVROV. No bail set.

DRUGS

Feb. 3, 9:21 p.m., Glenn Hwy. near Grandview Rd.: Kyle L. Purcell, 45, Sutton, stopped for an equipment violation. Charge: DWLR. Bail: $1,000. Passenger Lester Gross, 33, Sutton, allegedly possessed drugs. Charge: Drug misconduct. Bail: $2,500.

Feb. 3, 10:05 p.m., Wasilla: Michael Jester, 20, Palmer, a passenger in a vehicle, arrested on a Valdez warrant for failure to appear in court on an underage drinking charge and on charges from a Jan. 15 search of a car in he was driving that turned up a stolen weapon, methamphetamines packaged for sale, scales and Clonazepam. Bail: $10,500.

    " 6 Adults between the age of 45-51 with DUI's. They are not children and all believed they could drive under the influence. I would bet they've driven drunk before and didn't get caught.
    Drinking fogs your ability to make good decisions.
    For about the cost of one drink- you can use a disposable breathalyzer and test yourself.
    Take the test and let "IT" tell you that you shouldn't be driving. "
