Colony held the Wolfpack to just 28 percent shooting and 11 second -half points, and the Knights scored a 47-29 win over the Wolfpack during the first day of the Lady Lynx Invitational at Dimond High School on Wednesday.
Junior Kaitlyn Klapperich led the Knights with a game-high 13 points. Klapperich hit 6-of-9 shots from the field and dished out six assists.

Freshman Mary Klapperich chipped in 10 points.
Senior Amanda Booth led the Knights with six rebounds.
Colony led 15-10 after the end of the first quarter, but it was the Knights’ work during the second half that proved to be the difference.
West Valley scored eight points in the third and three in the fourth, while shooting 20 percent from the floor during the final 16 minutes.
Erica Veazey led West Valley with eight points.
West Valley entered the tourney as the top-ranked 4A girls team according to the Alaska School Activities Association’s Winning Percentage Index. The formula, which takes a team’s winning percentage and a team’s opponents’ winning percentage against 4A schools into account, is used to seed the 4A state tournaments.
Colony was ranked fourth, according to the WPI.
Ketchikan (second), West Anchorage (third) and Wasilla (fifth) rounded out the top five.
In other first-day action, Wasilla scored an easy 49-19 win over the Bartlett Golden Bears.
Wasilla didn’t allow Bartlett to hit double digits in scoring in any quarter. The Warriors allowed four points in both the first and the fourth and three points during the third.
Junior Celeste Colegrove led Wasilla with 14 points, while junior Kelsey Cottle notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Katie Bialka added six points in the victory.

Knights cruise to win
PALMER — Sophomore Alyssa Hutchins scored a game-high 23 points as the Colony Knights cruised past Lathrop 73-31 at Colony High School last week.
Junior Kaitlyn Klapperich added 17 points, and freshman Mary Klapperich chipped in 13 for the Knights.

Heritage gets by Houston
ANCHORAGE — Heritage used a big third quarter to score a 53-39 win over the Houston Hawks at Heritage Christian School in Anchorage on Tuesday.
Heritage led by just two points after the first quarter and four points and halftime, but outscored the Hawks 20-6 in the third.
Senior Zack Qual led the Hawks with nine points in the loss.
