Colony, Houston, Palmer and Wasilla are among 23 programs competing in the North/South Duals and Tournament this weekend.
Grapplers from across the state will hit mats at Colony, Palmer and Wasilla today for the North/South Duals. The duals will begin at 9:30 a.m., and a second session is slated for 2:30 p.m.

North Pole, Bethel, Houston, Dimond, West Anchorage, Kenai, Skyview and the host Warriors will start at Wasilla.
Soldotna, Anchorage Christian, Bartlett, Kodiak, Service, Eagle River and the Colony varsity and junior varsity squads will wrestle at Colony.
The top three teams from the pool of squads at both Palmer and Wasilla will advance to the final round of duals this evening. The top two teams from the Colony pool will also advance.
Wasilla will host a traditional varsity tournament on Saturday. Wrestlers will be placed into a 24-man bracket for the one-day event, and action is slated to start at 9 a.m.
Local wrestlers ranked
MAT-SU — More than two dozen local wrestlers are ranked in the top-six of their respective weight classes accordig to the latest list compiled by the Alaska wrestling Web site akmat.org.
Five of the 26 Valley grapplers on the list, released Monday, are ranked first.
Colony’s Charles Coisman (125), Sam Loggins (135), Kenny Boykin (171) and Eric Fan (215) currently hold a No. 1 spot. Wasilla’s Abe Fox (103) is also ranked first.
