Enough misleading vote Kincaid, Burchell

I am writing to express my disgust at Matanuska Electric Association, in particular Mr. Tuckerman Babcock and Ms. Lorali Carter and the lengths to which they are prepared to stoop in order to get the Mat-Su Borough ordinance repealed.

On Saturday, Feb. 2 as I left the Lowe’s store in Wasilla, a petition gatherer for MEA asked me would I be interested in signing a petition to get a MSB ordinance repealed so that the gas power plant can be built. Really! I pointed out that the MSB ordinance does not prohibit the construction of a gas power plant and that he is misleading the public by suggesting otherwise.

He declined to give me his name, but clearly this petition gatherer needs to be chaperoned in order that the truth be told — MEA wants carte blanche to build a power plant without any regulatory oversight. Read our lips MEA Board — we do not trust you to act in the best interests of the people of the Mat-Su. You consistently demonstrate your contempt for us. We, the people, need this MSB ordinance in order to protect us from you.

We need to upgrade this MEA board and dismantle its good 'ole boys business style. Vote Janet Kincaid and Peter Burchell.

" I have worked with Burchell on other boards serving the community's best interest and I have to say that he has always put the community first. He doesn't mess around and knows when wrong doing is taking place. I support Burchell as an MEA Board member. He will represent us fairly and will clean up the problems as he goes! "

" This is what passes for business as usual at MEA. Spend member money on frivolous stuff that only helps management. Great way to run a member-owned co-op, and board president Lee Jordan has given his approval to all of it. Time to replace him. Vote Burchell and Kincaid. "

" This misleading petition drive is happening all over--They do not tell the whole story--When you ask for more information they don't have it--I believe this petition should be dis-allowed --There is no way this should be paid for by the CO-OP when most of the people disagree with it. "
